Digital camera help please!

My Canon Powershot A70 has broken and I need to get a new camera Sad.

Can anyone recommend one? I would like one which has a video option which records sound. I don't want to spend a fortune as this last camera hasn't lasted too long.

Also needs to be easy to use Grin!

is it definitely broken? my powershot started sulking so i took its batteries out for a few hours and it mysteriously started working again.

That used to work. Now it doesn't work at all. All the photos come out black. They used to come out all blurred, and then when I recharged the batteries they were fine. They tried them with new batteries in the shop this morning and they don't think its a battery problem. They think its a chip problem which could cost £100 to repair. Not worth it really.
