Must sound really silly, but do they mix the ingredients? that is, do you just put all the ingredients in, and the machine mixes and then bakes? wanted to get one, but don't want to be bothered with mixing and making the dough by hand.

they do it all
mix and bake
all you do is measure the ingredients and put them in the pan

what is a good brand of breadmaker & are there any truly bad ones?

Katymac · 29/04/2006 22:28

I have a kenwood

I love it

After making 1 or 2 loaves a day for 18m it died

I think I will buy a new one - since being back on bought bread my tummy has gone up by about 4 inches

I also think I'll buy another Kenwood

Get the panasonic one, it's probably one of the most expensive around but it's the best, it always comes out top in tests.
We had a breville which died then we bought the panasonic and the bread is so much better. It also has an automatic fruit and nut dispenser so you can wake up in the morning to cinnamon and raisin bread or 5-seed bread.

Another vote for the Panasonic and its little nut tray Smile
