Hi, I'm an expectant first time Mum without much spare cash (what's new?!! :)). I've seen a great offer for a Hauck cot bed but obviously don't want to scrimp on something so important (and don't want to waste money on items that aren't good quality) - can anyone give any feedback based on personal experience, please?

Generally a cot just needs to be sturdy, so when you pay more you are paying for more expensive styling and finishes.

A cot bed can be good value because you use it for longer, but if you plan to have a short gap before number 2 you will find it better to buy a regular size cot, then a junior bed later when the 2nd baby needs the cot.

Look at how many height postions the base has - 2 is ample but more expensive models have more.

Also a dropside is v useful, esp when you have the base on lowest setting. My PIL have a cot bed, but the side is fixed so you need really long arms to reach to the bottom where the baby is!

Thanks!! It seems like an offer I can't refuse as I can't find any other cot beds for less (and that's without the mattress) And there is no plan for number 2.....Shock :o!!!!
