Hi can anyone recommend a lovely toybox for a boy? Preferably with cars/trains etc on it. Does anyone know anyone who either makes them or know where i can get one. It's for my ds1 first birthday from his grandparents - so ideally we would like a classic one that should last for quite a few year.

Many thanks

how about plain wooden one and paint his fave charichters on?? or let him paint piccys on it, then varnish to seal and protect?Smile

Any of \link{http://www.gltc.co.uk/ProductList.aspx?search=toy+AND+box+OR+toy+box+OR+t0y+b0x&language=en-GB\these} any good ? Maybe the castle or jungle one?

geogteach · 28/04/2006 13:39

We've got the castle one of those, it does its job but doesn't hold that much, i'm not sure mnay traditional toy boxes do - or maybe my 3 just have too much stuff

Hi
We got one made and painted for my DS 1st birthday from this website. www.thewrightkidsstuff.co.uk
Can highly reccommend them, there are loads of toy boxes on there with different designs many with cars/trains, you can get them personalised with their name, birthdate etc as well.

myermay · 29/04/2006 08:26

thanks everyone for this. Really like the idea of having one made - however i looked on the website and the 100 pounds box looks quite small and the large one is 250, which is a bit more than i expected to pay. I'll keep looking. Thanks again

hi Myermay
We got the £100 toy box, it isn't huge but can manage to fit a suprising amount of DS toys in it.Just wanted to say the guy is a fantastic artist though and it is something we will have for a long time we got one with an underwater/finding nemo theme.

myermay · 29/04/2006 18:43

so glad you replied again lukesmama, as i've be umming and ahhhing about this toybox. The only thing that worried me is that the toybox really isn't that tall, is it? But i just think it'll be so sweet for him to have a personalised toybox. Think we'll go for the small too and get a train or plane on it. thanks for your help. I'd love to see a picture of your sons box if you get a second to email one to me via CAT, thanks again

Hi
Let me know your email and will try and take a picture of it over the weekend.
Just wanted to say the guy who does them is really helpful and will do any sort of design you like.I know they are expensive but it is something to keep and treasure and everyone comments on it and how different it is.
You are right it isn't particularly tall but if your house is anything like ours there are so mnay toys I think we would need about 10 of these boxes to store everything, the rest of the toys are shoved in plastic containers in the cupboard!!

myermay · 30/04/2006 10:40

OK thank, i'll try to cat you.
