Travelling with a Bugaboo

I am travelling to America next week and want to bring my Bugaboo Frog...has anyone travelled on a plane with a Bugaboo before??? I am only concerned as I want to bring the carrycot...so my worry is that I have to separate the Frame and the Carrycot and they will get damaged. I plan on checking the car seat.

Any experiences???

a friend had her posh buggy broken by an airline coming over from australia and it took ages to get the insurance sorted. imo this is what cheapo buggies are for.

I have travelled with my bugaboo quite a lot. Honestly the bugagoo is a bit of a pain to travel with. You end up wrestling with it at the plane gate, forcing it into the bag. Worry about it getting damaged etc. It is not the most portable thing even in the bag.

I now travel with a cheap one fold buggy which is far easier and I'm not worried about damage etc.

Travelled with bugaboo only last week. I didn't use the carrycot though. You will have to separate them to get them into the hold, but the carseat and frame of ours wasn't damaged at all on both journeys. We decided against using our carrycot for exactly the reason that it might get damaged as it doesn't fold down well. Not sure that helps you at all!

We have flown twice with our Bugaboo but didn't take carrycot - just car seat & chassis. Both times they have been fine, but now DS is bit older (10mths)I'll use a cheaper buggy from Mothercare just in case. When you check in mke sure you get all prts ticketed & labelled. Then when you get to the plane & you have to part with it all make sure you put it altogether ie put the crry cot / seat inside the folded legs so it is clear to the staff that they all belong together.

In the early months with my baby I did travel with the bug. The bassinet fold flat and I put it in a duffel and checked it. Chassis could also fit in a duffle so if necessary at the gate, I put it in there and it made it fine. I loved having the bassinet for baby to sleep in wherever we went - found it very handy. And of course, the car seat. Have fun!
