Need to buy a netbook, absolutely clueless, any recommendations?

I need to something to take out and about. Will need to surf internet, email, and basic office functions eg. word processing.

Also, would like a long battery life. Would prefer to spend under £100, but no idea if this is reasonable, and prepared to up the budget!

Bumping this as I want to get either a netbook or a tablet (to which I can attach a proper keyboard) to take on holiday. It has to be decent for internet/email/word processing, and I need to be able to attach a proper keyboard.

Something with decent battery life, and a camera...

Not an ipad - too many compatibility problems.

Would be interested in any up-to-date recommendations!

The "geeky stuff" board is where you're most likely to get an informed answer.

I wouldn't bother with a netbook tbh. DH had one and it was just about ok but only because it was small, portable, etc. He bought a new one to replace it and the new one was slower and generally shit so he took it back and bought an ipad instead which is phenomenally better.

Even if you don't want an ipad, I'm sure you will find something much better than a netbook

Many thanks, I just found it and will take a look over the weekend!

(Didn't even know it was there).
