Corsa easytronic gears help plzzzz

Hi all , I've just bought a Corsa Club Easytronic (semi automatic). It's my first car!

I'm happy driving in auto but am wondering how the manual gears work ???? You put it into A/M to drive in auto but you also put it into A/M to drive in manual so how do you click up the gears?! I've no idea! The gear stick only has the A\M, N and R. Any help appreciated,

According to the manual, push forward to change up a gear, pull back to change down. There's an online copy here if you don't have one - page 146.
