Jane Matrix Car Seat - anyone got one?

I'm expecting baby 2 and have a car with only 2 seats in the back. With dd1 I used my matrix in the lie flat position until she was about 6 months, but this time we won't be able to at all - Does anyone know if you can use the matrix in the sitting up position for a new born/ and if not - what's the earliest it's safe to put them in that position? Can't find my instructions and can't buy another car! Do I need to buy a new car seat?!

You can use it upright for a newborn, it isn't fantastic in that position but it will work. It's an absolute pain to get in and out, though, I would be tempted to buy a new car seat if you can afford it (and if you are going to be taking it and out, i.e. to put on a travel system).
