using stairgates on french/patio doors

We would like to have the doors open that lead into the garden on nice days but 13 month old DD did a head plant out of the door on saturday so me thinks we perhaps shoudl put a stairgate up until she's a bit older.
Does anyone have any experience of using a stairgate on french/patio doors (we would only have one open)?

TIA

I believe that a travel one may work

thanks for the links shhh but i dont really need that much. We'll only have one door open so I'm hoping the gate will go in the gap but I'm just concerned as it wont be up against a flat wall but instead a door frame.

www.babysecurity.co.uk

This site has a gate wizard to help you choose the right one for your gap/doorway
