What do I need to set myself up with a wireless laptop?

A laptop obviously! But what else? I really fancy sitting on the sofa suring mumsnet on a laptop instead of crouched in our spare room in front of our huge slow PC which is about 15 years old and keeps crashing. I've found one I like but I want to know what else I need to make it wireless and how I go about getting broadband and all that stuff. I'm not very PC literate, as you can probably tell Grin so any advice would be very welcome.

Most new ones are likely to be capable of being wireless - they will come with the right software.

Then you need to get a wireless broadband package. We have BT Broadband and they are giving free wireless routers when you get wireless broadband.

And that's it really Smile.

(I am currently sitting on the sofa BTW Grin)

Thanks - I didn't realise it came with it all. How much do you pay for your BT broadband?

bulldog www.bulldogbroadband.com
are also giving away free routers and they are great.
we are on 8meg connection for £9.99 per month.
and no fixed contract which is just fab!

you prob already have a contract tho dont u? So you will jsut need to make sure you have a laptop that is wireless ennabled, and has a wireless card, and then a wireless modem.
