Can I do anything about this?

Hi everyone,

I bought a bathroom suite a couple of weeks ago and it is being delivered this Saturday.

Since I bought it it has gone down in price by £100.

Do you think there is any way they may give the difference back to me? Not sure if I should just try to appeal to their kind nature or whether there is a bit of policy / legislation / something else equally as intellectual that I can quote to them?

I would apeal to their better nature, but there is no law or anything, it's perfectly legal. Bit like airlines who cahnge seat prices due to demand etc and reduce at last minute.

Good luck!

I would contact them and try to get them to reimburse your £100.00. It would have been fine if it had been delivered before the price went down - but seen as though you are still waiting. That or cancel the order and re-order at the cheaper price - if you can wait a bit longer for delivery.

How did you pay? If by credit card you may be able to get the money back from the CC company (we did once, through Barclaycard).

Try appealling to their better nature.

Northerner - I think I will appeal to their better nature to begin with but if they are not playing ball I will try to cancel and re-order, like DSW says, because then I rekon they will just give me the difference back to avoid hassel.

I say 'I' will do it, of course I will send DH.

Gingernut - paid either on Natwest or Halifax CC. How and why would I get the money back? What happened in your case? (soz, not prying)

Do they offer any price matching policy . If so, and the price reduced within the stated period after you bought it, then you could ask them for a refund of the difference, or alternatively goods to the value which may be more at the discretion of the manager (we got the latter when we bought a pc once). Don't think there is any statutory obligation though.

HI everyone.

Thanks for your advice.

Just to update you . .DH went to said bathroom shop last night and they gave us the £100 back which was rather nice of them!
