12 month manufacturers guarantee - when does it start ?

If you purchased a fridge/freezer online on March 2005, but did not actually get it delivered until June 2005 due to the web company not being able to get the item from the manufacturer, when would you count the 12 month guarantee as starting ? I have a fault with our fridge. I have called out an engineer and told them that the appliance is less than 12 months old. Am preparing for a ruck with the engineer when he sees we actually paid for it in March. Any similiar experiences out there ?

i think it would technically start from when you purchased it.. so march

but you may be able to argue your case!

IME most reputable online retailers don't charge you until they dispatch the goods. Don't see how they can justify hanging onto your money for 3 months when they haven't even got the goods, never mind being arsey about the guarantee. Good luck.
