Touran or Verso?

We're looking to buy a not-too-big MPV and have whittled it down to the VW Touran or the Toyota Verso. But which one?

Has anyone else had this dilemma? Which did you go for, and why?

We went for the verso mainly because we felt that it is less mpv like if that makes sense. Have had it about a week and love it so far. Really nice to drive and 3 car seats fit across the middle row no problem (which was our main requirement).

We've got a Touran, it's v reliable, big boot, good value.

I haven't tried a Verso but I have had a Toyota saloon in the past, and I prefer VW.

VW just feels more solid, slightly better quality, German precision (plus DH is German so he may be slightly biased).

I know what you mean Ophelia, I have test driven both and the Touran felt slightly better build quality. The Verso is a bit cheaper though and I actually prefer its looks - and I know what you mean Washingo about it not seeming like an MPV, in a good way.
