Anyone know where I can get size 2.5 infant shoes for a walking child? Clarks don't start with proper shoes til size 4. Even a 3 would be better!

startrite do smaller - my dd has a 3 proper walking shoe and think they did 2.5 but startrite come up bigger (think it is half a size diff) than clarks so might not help !

DD had a pair of black patent leather Kickers in a 2.5F when she started walking. There are very few around in that size. Most start at size 3.

Does your lo have to have a proper shoe?

Yorkiegirl · 19/04/2006 18:07

its not my LO, its my friend's DD2.
She doesn't have to have a proper shoe but her mum would prefer it so that her foot is properly supported when outside. She doesn't wear anything on her feet in the house.

How much walking does she actually do?

Clayhead · 19/04/2006 18:10

I used Start-rite when we had this problem

Clayhead · 19/04/2006 18:10

and my dd didn't even walk early - she was 17 months! She just had tiny feet.

My dd walked properly at 10 mo and wore size 3 shoes from Clarks. They had a flexible rubber sole, but gave enough protection for the walking that she did outside.

\link{http://www.startriteshoes.com/footwear/girls/pre_walkers/\Startrite pre-walkers} start at size 2. Their first shoes start at size 3, and start-rite come up small. Most independent shoe shops stock them, don't they? Or Vertbaudet if you're not so fussy about sizing.

DD had the little crawlers when she had her first shoes 2 months after she started walking. Was walking at 10mo and had first shoes at 12m. That's what the lady int he shop suggested as well as she didn't need heavy shoes cos she was so young

Continental brands start small like Naturino, Ricosta(Pepino), Geox, Elefanten - dd's first pair were an 18 which is a UK 2.

beckybrastraps, when my dd started walking, which is 3 years ago now, Clarks did shoes in a size 3 but not sandals which I needed as it was really hot. No idea why! Start-rite did both though.

beckybrastraps · 19/04/2006 18:19

Midwinter for my dd. Wellies would have been most appropriate! Actually, yes, start-rite are probably a good bet, as I always need a bigger size in start-rite than I do in clarks!
