Calling all campers - sleeping bag advice please......

Just bought king size sleeping bags for me and DH - they are 60oz.

Is this the warmest you can get? Have googled a bit, and looked on a few websites but need the advice of a hardened camper.

We froze our arses off last August (hot in the day, freeeeeezing at night) cos our sleeping bags were old and crap and I can't risk it again or DH won't go!!

And who's going camping this Easter?

You'll always freeze at Easter! You need to get off the ground as much as poss - mats, airbeds, campbeds ... whatever you can fit in.

Hot water bottles are great too.

That's why we're not going! Sod being cold!

We've got \link{http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3407930.htm\this one} from Argos and it was really snuggly last year, not sure how that compares to yours!

Lots of layers is the best advice!

We have the same one LucyCat! It is really warm. Last May I kept sticking my arm out as soo hot, onlt to hit the icy air & bring it back in quick. We were the only couple in our party who were warm at night.

We are off camping tomorrow morning....but its autumn here in Oz....and although the days are warm...the clear nights are bitter...down to 5 - 6 degrees only.
If you are on lilos/airbags...use something like a thin blanket to lie on...and sleeping bags ontop....we have even used cardboard boxes...under the airbags.....and yes...hot water bottles are always good.
Tomorrow we will be feeding the pelicans and fishing....can't wait...I always loved camping when we were in the uk...its great for the kids....so much freedom.
Happy camping.

I got that one, lucy, and I don't like it - well, I don't like sharing it with dh. I'd rather have a single one and my own airbed next time, I've decided. In that one every time one of us moved the other was disturbed, and we ended up in a big tangly knot - with me half on, half off the airbed Grin
