I am debating a buying a car.ATM I borrow my Mums for work (20 miles each way-no public transport) 3 days a week and for shopping days out etc.
It has got more difficult lately to borrow it and sometimes I like to go out just me and the kids, so am thinking about getting a car.

Any ideas on prices for a small car(ka/fiesta/clio/corsa that sort of thing)and also prices of car tax.I sort of have an idea for the insurance cost .

TIA

I think I pay about 280 a year for a 2 litre volvo 440 which is getting on in years, but excellent for running kids about in. Thats fully comp. It is through a broker called First Direct who always find me the cheapest, and this year the insurer is Link.

Have a look at Exchange and Mart website. Type in price you want to pay and model etc, where you live, will give you details of local cars for sale.

Look on ebay.... I sold my bil's car there (he knew about it Grin.) and it was hassel free. It was about 2 months ago and I seem to remember 51 onwards plate Fiat Punto's going for around £1500-£2000...Nice car as well.
