Unwanted hair in nether regions

Anyone know what is the best product to use for bikini line? I usually save but would like to try something more effective. If you buy wax doesn't it have to be especially for the bikini line?

Thanks in advance.

I use immac for bikini line (pr whatever it is called nowadays)

MrsBadger · 10/04/2006 16:30

I shave but agree it has to be done often.
Did go for a salon wax once and came up in a horrible red boil-like rash that took ages to go down - better to have a quick flick with the razor every morning IMO!

Tutter · 10/04/2006 16:31

i use wax strips. assumed that pain would seem less post-childbirth, but no, still horrific. better than stubble (shaving) or ingrowing hairs (cream) though...

I was going to try that Nair but my friend says it smells sweaty so thought I might try waxing but am a bit of a chicken....just wondered if there was anything else.

I prefer Veet (remebered its name now) to Nair. Nair is cheeper but yuckier.

Haven't had any ingrowing hair problems either I am glad ti say.

Lol

Yes I wear little shorts, wouldn't wear a thong or anything like that. Am going on holiday soon and just wanted to find something instead of having the tell tale shaving rash Blush

I'd go with depilatory cream - waxing gave me horrific bruises

crazydazy · 10/04/2006 16:52

Yes I think I will try that Veet.

Thanks everybody - Mumsnet to the rescue again, god knows where I would be without it Smile very hairy thats for sure.

I have very dark stubborn hair and have tried epilating. I can just stand it on bikini line. I can't use it on legs as ingrowing hairs too bad, i use sander for legs.

crazydazy · 10/04/2006 21:48

What the Black and Decker variety Grin

Well bought some veet and tried it but maybe I didn't leave it on long enough cos not a lot of hair came away.

The smell is pretty bad too, smell quite sweaty in fact. Am going to try it again though, it cost me £6 and it was on offer at Morrisons.

No its is not Black and Decker Grin. Its the same stuff as silky mitts but on an electric sander type thing.

peaches27 · 10/04/2006 22:41

Last year I tried shaving the whole bikini area daily because someone told me I was going wrong by letting it grow, cos thats when it gets itchy. I get spots, trapped hairs, itchiness etc. Well I persevered for a week. I did a lot of research on the net and one German naturist site suggested bathing the area with soluble aspirin solution Grin this caused quite a bit of hilarity in our household! (has your minge had its aspirin yet? DH thought he was so witty!). Anyway, despite using sensitive lotions, calming lotions AND aspirin, the itchiness and spottiness never calmed down. I have come to the conclusion its just not for me! I just shave as far as I need to and no further and wear tankinis with shorts bottoms!

wheretogo · 10/04/2006 22:48

If you were bruised after waxing it was not done properly.... from a therapist!

crazydazy · 11/04/2006 11:10

Yes Peaches I too am very sensitive down below and think I am going to invest in some of those little shorts type swimsuits this year. I am getting too old for little bikinis anyway and my body just isn't what it used to be.
