Internet shopping for toys

Can anyone recommend a good toy retailer on the internet? Preferably one that does 24hr delivery and gift wrapping.

I usually use MailOrder Express but a wrapped £6 toy has just cost me £13 to send and they have a 3-5 working day delivery!!! I wouldn't mind so much at the dreadfully inflated price if it was going to get there next day!

Amazon used to be good, but they only seem to have Amazon Marketplace retailers selling the toys now, not directly (which means no giftwrap).

What type of toys are you looking for? If you like "traditional" toys you could try Woolgars . They'll do giftwrapping on request.

Just general brandname stuff really.

The sort of last minute "oh hell, I haven't bought x a birthday present and I can't face town at the moment" sort of shopping

\linkwww.hamleys.com/web/Hamleys{} do 48 hour delivery and thought its not giftwrapped it comes in a big, red Hamleys box.

BadHair · 07/01/2004 20:47

Ooh dear, that was meant to say Hamleys

I don't think \link{http://www.toyopia.co.uk/home.asp\Toyopia do gift-wrapping, but they are usually quick. Their descriptions are sometimes a bit weird, and not as many pics as MailOrder Express, but they are very helpful, and do seem to offer 24 hr delivery.

Aargh, getting complacent and not previewing: Toyopia

hi there, look at the post " Help cant finf wooden garage/ carpark. there are some there, if you need more let me know, I have loads of shop/sites that came accross on my search!!

SoupDragon · 07/01/2004 21:48

Ragged Rascal were good and I think do express delivery for a fee (the did at Christmas!). Mention Mumsnet and you get 10% off too - there may be a link on the MN homepage so have a check.

Do have a look at the wooden car park thread as there was another company who I actually ordered the garage from who were good.

Thanks for all those - nice to have an armoury of different stores to choose from next time!

Both Toys R Us and ELC have websites, but not 24 hour delivery I don't think. ELC is about 4 days.
