Which Saucepan set to get

I'm looking to get a new saucepan set for a gas hob.

I'm looking to only spend about £60 for the set.

I've seen a set by Viners and a set by Tefal, so which is better for the money.

Have a look at the auction channels on telly, you sometimes get a bargain there.

What size set are you looking for? Just 3 saucepans or frying pans too?
If the budget can be stretched a bit, their Privilege stuff is the best I've ever used and is nonstick outside as well as in for easy cleaning - best price I could find was \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009O8MCU/202-9549899-4435022\here} from Amazon.

I need a set containing 3 saucepans and a frying pan. If it contains a milk pan or a smaller frying pan that it's a bonus.

I've had my current set for 10 years and so is looking very tired so was looking for a set that will still look good after a few years.

If you want them to stay looking good I would recommend that you don't go for a non-stick finish in the saucepans. I find that any non-stick stuff that I have (frying pans) need to be replaced quite frequently as the non-stick finish gets scratched no matter how careful you are. We have \link{http://www.pots-and-pans.co.uk/acatalog/Stellar7000.html\Stellar} saucepans the we got as wedding presents 15 years ago that still look great, plus they have nice, thick bottoms so they distribute the heat well and don't buckle. It's more than you wanted to pay for a 5-piece set though.

Now that I think about it, my mum has stainless steel saucepans that she got as a wedding present 42 years ago that still look good. I can't remember the brand though (possibly Prestige???) but they look and feel very similar to my Stellar saucepans (weight/thickness of base etc).

must agree with bran... if yo can push the boat out stellar pans are fab... ihave burnt the bottom of at least 2 of my pans till they were black as black (the one that had food in!) and till it went bronze (the empty one left on a lit gas hob ) and they are still fantastic and scrub up as good as new....

are good... not had experience with their pans but frying pans and wok are great!
