Best toy garage?

We got given this cheap one
\link{http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/TruHome/TruSpecialOffers/TruSpecialOffersToys5to10/221392?ref=Search\garage}
and it was always coming apart and then recently broke when my son stood on it. So I want to get him another one for his birthday. I want a robust one that will take a variety of size cars. Do the wooden elc one and the plan city one look only fit the cars that come with it? Will any plastic ones withstand a boisterous 3 year old boy?

Dses have \link{http://www.elc.co.uk/toy-34470\this one} from ELC. Have had it two years now and apart from ds1 using the ramps as makeshift guns, it is great. Very sturdy. No cars with it though.

We got one from toys r us a fisher price one it is plastic and comes with 2 cars its good cost about £ 25.00

welshboris · 03/04/2006 19:43

The little people is good

Piffle · 03/04/2006 19:44

Our little people one is cool takes up a lot of space though it has noises which I guess have a life span according to their batteries...
DD is 3.4 and climbs all over hers!

Blush ours looks like \link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-930-FISHER-PRICE-LITTLE-PEOPLE-GARAGE-1970s_W0QQitemZ6048603196QQcategoryZ2529QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem\this} and came from a jumble sale. Still works though, and the fact it's lasted so long is testament to its sturdiness!

WE've had teh ELC one for about 6 years and its still going strong well made very sturdy and takes a variety of cars.

WestCountryLass · 03/04/2006 22:01

We have the ELC one too and it is very sturdy, DD and DS can stand on it and it holds strong.

laura240 · 04/04/2006 13:36

We have the ELC garage mentioned below. I got it a couple of weeks ago and it now comes with 15 free cars.

wessexgirl · 04/04/2006 14:16

The ELC one is beloved by both dds and I recommend it - although, having been brought up with a Fisher Price one, I just find it so wrong that the ramp finishes up behind the garage. NO! The cars should come out at the FRONT!

jane313 · 04/04/2006 17:35

thanks everyone. I wondered how sturdy the big elc one was. Its good to know it is. That fisher price one is the one I originally wanted before we got given one.

I have the Plan Toys one; ds3 loves it ! Any little cars go on it, tho he has a few Plan wooden ones too. Oh and its road (buy as an extra) is compatible with Brio, which he inherited by the shedload from hi big brothers.

bubblerock · 04/04/2006 18:40

We have the little people one too and it's still intact so it must be good Grin
