Hi does anyone know how you use the harness for the newborn without the coccoon for the version 2? the instructions are silent on this point.

Also when fitting the doubles seat in toddler and newborn mode it says you can adjust the height of the doubles seat, but confused how you do this.

Are the panniers worth buying?

thanks

Hi I have a V1 E3 but I should imagine the harness is fairly similar in the V2. We never used a cocoon as ds2 was born in July last year but I just put a lambskin liner over the harness and initially just put him on top of that - when he started wriggling I used the shoulder straps and crotch strap which I threaded through the lambskin and it worked fine. The harness is huge on a newborn though. Alternatively you could attach a seperate harness to the d rings in the seat unit to get a better fit.

The pannier bags are good and hold a lot of shopping but I rarely use them unless I need to pack a lot of stuff as they are fiddly to get on and off.

I can't answer your other question I'm afraid as I only have a V1.

hey Tumble mum!
in answer to your questions:
I was under the impression that you don;t use the harness in newborn mode, i never did. If i wasn't using the cocoon, i'd put a folded blanket down and laid DD on that. She was quite secure, and i never worried that she may fall out. Once she'd started to move around more, i did watch her more but she never looked like she was in danger of falling out.
I also don't think the height is adjustable on the toddler seat as the frame of the seat just fits into the catches on ours. Not sure wether we have the version 2, but i'm pretty sure we do.
I never bought the panniers so can't tell you anything about them, sorry! I just used to cram the basket full and put stuff on top of the hood too!

thanks to you both, expecting baby any day and was wondering how the harness would work as the shoulder straps and crotch straps are a long way from the 'sporan thing' as dh calls it and cannot see how it would work unless you thread this back through the loop it goes through when in toddler mode and not sure it will squeeze back through the loop

feel a bit worried about not using a harness just in case lost control of the pushchair, we go on a lot of trains, buses and escalators

thanks for the tip re panniers maybe will give them a miss

thank you

We never used the harness with our baby either.

We have the bags and they hold loads of stuff I keep one packed with buggy extras like raincover, sun shade as well as other day out essentials.

I can't see how to adjust height on ours as the toddler seat has a specific place to attach on. Ours is version 2.
