Have bought some to use as aftersun for when I go on holiday so haven't used it yet but I have used the Johnsons one in the yellow bottle and thats very good, is just as good as fake tan but less streaky and more natural looking, just gives your skin a sunkissed kind of look, it also smells much better than fake tan.

someone mixed us up the other day, Orinoco...

Yes, i've tried it and it's fine. Not sure whether the colour is as deep (I used the one for pale skin) as the Johnson's one, but I developed an allergy to that last summer and haven't been able to use it again. So far no problem with this one.

(Not exactly a mediterranean glow, either...)

Thats why I thought I might just use is as aftersun because if you apply it every day it comes out more daily. Am hoping to acquire a half decent tan as am going for 2 weeks but always wear high factor cream as I do burn and so thought this might make my tan look a little better.

Orinoco · 30/03/2006 22:26

Thanks both of you - I'm quite pale so I thought it might look more subtle than bottle tan.

Yes, I noticed that too Orlando! I got the credit for one of your comments!

I was wondering about it too as I have very pale skni, my legs especially are like milk bottles.

I like Dove stuff generally. Can't stand Johnsons, not good for my skin, so thought about trying it.

I have used the Johnston's one, but I start to smell like Digestive biscuits midway through the afternoon. Does the Dove one smell, too, does anyone know?

Orlando · 31/03/2006 10:06

Doesn't smell too bad, MrsM-- a bit sort of melony. (Sadly I'd choose to eat a digestive biscuit over a melon any day, but can see that in terms of smell the melon might win...)

Orinoco- hope for your sake it doesn't happen too often! I do come out with some pretty banal things. (And you were orinoco long before I was Orlando, I think)

hi, i'm currently using the Dove Summer Glow - it's MUCH better than the johnsons holiday skin. i used the light-medium one with excellent results and I have very fair skin. Just make sure you loofah allover in the shower before you put it on. i normally shower in the evening, apply it with gloves, wait for it to dry then go to bed and shower again in the morning.

the smell from the ligh-medium one is minimal and not overpowering, in fact it's quite nice.

i tried the medium to dark one last weekend and i gave me a beautiful colour but it's faded really patchy so I'm going to stick to the lighter one.

hope this helps!

Dee

This maybe a stupid question but does anyone know if it is ok to use this type of thing whilst bf. It doesn't say not to on the bottle but was just a bit worried.

MrsMuddle · 31/03/2006 16:40

Thanks, Angelfire and Orlando. I'm off to buy some tonight. It's on BOGOF at Sainsbury's at the moment, so if you pass a melon-smelling woman tomorrow, it may be me...
