Sleepsuits for a 4 year old - where can I get one?

Our 4.5 year old tends to kick off the covers during the night and as we don't have central heating he sometimes wakes freezing. He isn't keen on any covers at all except a thin woollen blanket so I usually put a duvet on top when he has fallen asleep. For this reason he may not take to a sleeping bag. He has tried to put dd's (20 months) sleepsuit on with not much success of course!

Where can I buy a sleepsuit for him? I've tried all the usual places, Mothercare, Adams, Vertbaudet but they only seem to do these up to age 3, although the latter do do pyjamas with feet but they don't look as cosy as a sleepsuit.

gap occasionally do sleepsuits for 4 yr olds (their size is 4XL) but not often I don't think. I have seen them there, though, so it may be worth asking them if they ahve any at the mo?
no other ideas I'm afraid...

I've got a French friend who puts both her older children to bed in sleepsuits but I'm afraid I don't know where she gets them (and I don't speak to her often so can't ask). Perhaps try looking online for a French Grobag type company? Sorry, that may well not be enough info but the French do seem to use these for older children than we do here so might be worth a go.

I had the same problem with my son when he was that age and a real wriggler in bed. I went to the charity shop and found an extra-large men's sweatshirt, and lay ds on top of it and drew around him with lots of spare. I cut out two patterns from each side of the sweatshirt and sewed them together with a zip down the middle. Crude, and not to be seen in public lol, but with a t-shirt underneath it did the trick!!

Think that Grobag now do an age 3-6 if that helps at all

La Redoute do some that go to age 8, just to be helpful, their link will only go as far as the main page, click on Enfant at the top, then you'll see pyjamas in the list on the left. They do normal sleepsuits at the bottom of the first page and artic fleece ones on page 3!

I found an all-in-one, what they call a sleepsuit, that goes up to age 16 but it's more of a pyjama suit than a gro-baggy thing.

I asked my mum to buy me some 18-24 month sleep suits in the UK and bring them to NZ for me. Her reply - well he'll need pyjamas by then so he can use the toilet! If she's so keen that can be her job.

Ah - have seen the proper sleepsuits now - fleece with feet, they look lovely, Eulalia - two-tone with motifs.

My nan has just bought a few in the sale at Asda age 5-6 (DS is nearly 4 so he will grow into them)to post to NZ for me as cannot buy them here. Is there an Asda near you?
Alternatively he is still wearing a BHS 18-24 month one which was huge at the time. Not sure what age they go up to.

Thanks everyone. I am going to order from La Redoute. I phoned Asda (only got girls ones left) and BHS don't do them for his age. The Mothercare website is hopeless.

La Redoute are also doing an all in one without feet for only £5.20.

Good idea Norma - don't think my dressmaking skills are up to it but will bear that in mind.

Woollies have nice ones - tigger and clifford. They are fleecy so nice and warm - they go up to a size 4-5 years. Cost £9.99 for the Clifford one and £14.99 for the tigger one.
