Microwave gave up the ghost today.
Any recommendations for a new one?

It depends wether you think you will really use a combi to its full potential. We have a combination tha t(apparently can do a full roast chicken with all the trimmings, but never got round to reading all the instructions. So it is used as a run of the mill mocro (apart from doing fab bake potatoes).

funny, ours doesn't work today either - only bought it last summer too Angry

I think I might well use the oven bit as putting the main oven on for the DDs tea seems a bit wasteful sometimes.

I love, love, love my combi. Which is funny as I didn't want it in the first place - I wanted an ordinary microwave but dh liked it because it was 'gadget-y' and industrial looking stainless steel. Now I wouldn't be without it. It heats up much faster than my main oven so I don't feel so wasteful if I only have something small to cook, say for the kids' dinner. When I need two different oven temps - eg., if I'm doing a slow roasted piece of meat and Yorkshire puds I can have a moderate oven and a hot one. And the microwave/oven setting is fab for proper jacket potatoes in a fraction of the time. And it has a grill - which grills really evenly as the grill stand fits on the turntable and rotates while it's grilling.

BUT, mine's a DeLonghi - don't get a DeLonghi (we got the microwave, toaster and a kettle all at the same time - the kettle bit the dust, the toaster's pants, and we've had the microwave fixed three times - control panel each time). If it goes again we'll replace it with another combi, but not a DeLonghi - never buying DeLonghi again.

Oooh, I'm glad to hear they're useful, I'm getting one.

We currently have a microwave and a toaster oven, so I'm hoping it can be the job of both.

This is very similiar to mine and I have found it very good but I have not used half the features! Ditto re fab baked potatoes though, plus the "chaos defrost" thing is excellent as you actually defrost it without it heating up so much that it starts to cook.

Never tried to do a link before so here goes!
