A computer mouse for a toddler

Wondered of anyone knew of where I could get a mouse suitable for using with a toddler. My DD is only 20 months but already loves using the computer. She likes the Cbeebies site which makes a lot of use of the mouse. But an adult mouse s a bit too big for her to handle and with too many buttons/scroll bar.

I know Berchet do one but it is ou of stock at Amazon.

I found this one too but it still has the 2 buttons/scroll bar on so may still be too much for her to comprehend properly. She ends up using the wrong buttons.

I'd like a USB one, and maybe optical too is possible. Anyone know where else I could look.

I'm afraid I haven't found anything better than your links. We're after something similar, so if I find something different I'll let you know. We're also after a children's keyboard (the whole setup actually!) Sorry can't be of help now

Found this too, but out of stock. Says it includes a baby mouse.

What about trying a computer shop rather than a toy shop? Somewhere like PC World maybe?

Looks like a cute mouse (ladybird) on the Berchet website, but I can't read French!

Sorry for all of the separate pastes. Will save them up for one post next time!

There's this , but it's a bit more expensive. One thing I found helped was to slow down the speed at which the cursor moves in response to the mouse, so they have a bit more time to get coordinated.

Thanks all. We actually already have the Berchet Baby Keyboard and I was hoping to get the mouse but can't find it in stock anywhere. Mind I think I'd prefer one she could use with normal software and on the internet.

I will hunt some more of these here. Tamum - that one looks good and it is that kind of thing I want. I will have a look more into it.

I have already done the slowing down of responses and the like but what she needs is a smaller one for definite. My mouse is just too big.

The keyboard works with 3 accompanying CDs aimed at 12-36 months and DD loves them. When she is older I am hoping o get a specialised keyboards which uses lower case letters and are in alphabetical order - think I have seen them in educational catalogues.

I looked in PC World yesterday but they didn't have anything.

Hulababy we have the Berchet keyboard for DS who is 2 and he got the matching mouse as part of his crimbo pressie. I ordered it from Amazon mid-december and it's great and worth the wait! Sorry that isn't much help if you are desperate for it now!

Oh dear - this is one of those accidentally entertaining thread names - "computer mouse for a toddler? Good swap!"

Hulababy · 03/01/2004 13:32

cocococo - Amazon says it isn't available at all at the moment
