I prefer matt myself as they don't show sticky finger marks like gloss does and are better under glass if you want to frame them. It's entirely personal though. I'll be interested to hear what the quality is like, I'm just learning about uploading pics to get them printed and am looking for a good company to do it.

Matt

Can't remeber what finish I got with them but I think matt probably would be better. I also found photbox better than snapfish.

matt
photobox service is really good IME

Thanks, alot of them will be being framed so I will go for matt.

Will be sure to let you know the quality too.

photobox are brilliant for delivery, recently got dd's passport photos done with them and had next day delivery. Really impressed.

lunarx · 27/03/2006 13:04

i love photobox. i go with their matte pics. i just prefer them.

but maybe try one or two of both and see which one you like better!

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 13:06

Matt, deffo. Less finger-marky and not as reflective when behind glass (so you actually see the photo rather than a reflection of you looking a the photo, IYSWIM !)

SoupDragon · 27/03/2006 13:07

I change my mind regularly as to whether I like matt or gloss :)

Snapfish are also good (the only one I've actually tried because I get 20 free prints for referring people) If you want to give them a go (and I think get 20 free prints yourself) email me on huffahorse at hotmail dot com

Ledodgy · 27/03/2006 13:07

Definately matt here too.

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 13:08

I use photobox and really rate them - website is stupendously easy to use, nice quality prints, good range of sizes, nice 'photo gift' range and fast, well packaged delivery.

NomDePlume · 27/03/2006 13:10

Although I have to say that I had 3 of my wedding pics blown up recently and they looked better in gloss as they are black and white. Gloss finish seems to give a slightly sharper image in black and white.

SoupDragon · 27/03/2006 13:11

I've just remembered another reason why I used Snapfish and not Photobox - PB wouldn't let me uploap my photos! In fact, it crashed my PC completely everytime I tried.
