Where can I buy a little rucksack for dd that doesn't have something hideous on it?

and when I say hideous I mean anything tv character related and big logo type things.

Just a nice plainish small bag.

I've tried Mothercare, Next, Vertbaudet, Letterbox and GLTC.

TIA

The market usually have simple things like that.

I bet she would love a tweenies one though! Wink

or dora
or barney
or bob.....!!!!!!!

madeleines · 24/03/2006 21:25

You can't. It's impossible.

Nbg · 24/03/2006 21:26

Yeah thats spot on Chicmama (sorry can't work your name out!)

Collosion she probably would love a Dora, bob, fifi, max and ruby or some other Nick Jnr tripe but I hate things with logos and characters on!

Ds has \link{http://www.ebags.co.uk/samsonite/sammies_funny_face_reg_smile_3/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=45033\this one}

They have other animal designs too.

madeleines · 24/03/2006 21:28

\link{http://www.worldtraveler.com/jump.jsp?itemType=CATEGORY&itemID=1181&path=1%2C3%2C287%2C1181\dd has the ladybird design and ds has the turtle}.
We got them from John Lewis for about £10 (I think) each. They've lasted really well and ds has used his every day at school for almost 2 years.
I think he's bored though and wants another but I'm reluctant to buy into all those themes.

madeleines · 24/03/2006 21:29

What do all these toddlers put in their bags and why are some of them so POSH??!! I would be scared someone might steal them!

Nbg · 24/03/2006 21:31

Oh yes!

Me likey the samsonite bags Grin

DD would love the ladybird one since she's just figured out how to say it!

Dd has a rucksack which holds a change of clothes and knickers plus bottle of water, raisins etc. I hasten to add most of the time I'm carrying it or it's on the pushchair. She likes having her own bag and I often find she's packed a few toys for emergencies.

Nbg · 24/03/2006 21:33

I think the "whats in your handbag" thread made me realise how much of dd's stuff I carry around.

It seems silly taking the change bag now so a little rucksack would be perfect.

Thanks for the links.

Look on the blooming marvellous sale....there are bags you will like there!

madeleines · 24/03/2006 21:34

the turtle one is particularly great because his head comes out of the 'shell' on a piece of elastic then springs back down again.

galaxy · 24/03/2006 21:34

Try a schoolwear shop. We bought dd a plain blue rucksack from the shop we have to buy her uniform from. It was about a tenner but very well made.

collision · 24/03/2006 21:34

Samsonite giraffe rucksack down to £6.99

Nbg · 24/03/2006 21:34

Will check, thanks collison.
