Christmas Swops - anyone?

Mummysurfer · 29/12/2003 16:33

For Christmas I received
"Jamie Oliver The Naked Chef" (paperback)
I already have it. anyone fancy a swop? Any other Jamie book would be good.
Anyone got anything else they fancy swopping?
Sorry if I sound ungrateful but I hate to see anyone wasting their money.

Well, we got a second small Air Hockey game - ds1 got one last year from dd1, ds2 got one this year from dh's sister, he was pleased (and has opened it!) but we really don't need 2. Anybody interested?

Ooh, just the thread I needed! Sorry Mummysurfer I have nothing to swap for your pressie, but my dd received a Jumbo Magnetic Drawing Board and she already has one, so we'd like to swap that for something.

Oh Mummysurfer, why couldn't I have seen this on saturday, I got the Hugh Whittensomething-or-other - River Cottage cookbook (or some such thing!) Which I promptly swaped for the Naked Chef!! However I wish I hadn't now, as looking through it there is nothing I want to cook in it, Do you think Waterstones will do another swap!!

crunchie - if they let you swap then get a nigel slater cookbook if you dont have one already - i like 'real food'....

Crunchie · 29/12/2003 20:26

Got it!! And all the Nigella's, Delia's, River Cafe etc, I am a cookbook queen, but I didn't have Jamies, so I thought I'd try it

Mummysurfer · 29/12/2003 21:42

Crunchie
Did you have a receipt?
i would love to swop it for Nigella or a different jamie or any other cookery book I don't have already ( which isn't that many)

Mummysurfer - you don't need a receipt to swap a book. Smiths, Waterstones and Borders will all take back books if they are brand new, undamaged etc and they sell it. They won't give you money but you can choose another book from the shop.

Crunchie · 30/12/2003 20:27

No I don't but I would try Waterstones if I were you. They exchanged mine, no problem - with no recipt and I know for a fact at least one of the books we exchanged was bought from Amazon!

All I had to accept was that if the book was discounted the reduced price was all I could swap for!

HMV do a similar thing with cds
