French language scheme - CDs etc

I have seen what looks like a really good French package advertised - it's based around a character, that I think might be an animal of some sort. It's aimed at really young kids and I think it's mainly computer games plus maybe a book. I thought it was a bbc product but can't find it. anyone know what I'm on about?

found it. It's called Muzzy. but am a bit stunned by the price - has anyone used it? is it worth it?

A lot of DVD's also have spanish or french soundtracks (eg Dora). What about playing it in a different language - if they know the story they'll soon associate the works (or so my theory goes!)

Hi, I have just done a 'free' trial of Muzzy for 30 days whereby you only pay for p&p.

Really, really disappointed by it tbh - poor quality dvd, muzzy's voice isn't very clear and overall it's very dated, dd wasn't very interested in it at all. We sent it back before the trial period was up yet they had already charged my credit card! I complained to them and was refunded, but it took ages to action. For a BBC production, I think it's poor. I am guessing because it's so dated there might be something new in the pipeline, in which case I would wait and see.

Hi, just noticed today that our library has a copy of this. Might be worth a try if you weren't sure whether or not to buy it.

there was a thing in the guardian last saturday about teaching languages to small children - the journalist had used the italian (i think) version of muzzy with her daughter and really rated it.
