can anyone recommend a bike for me?

I am hoping that there are some bike experts on mumsnet.

I want to buy a bike, price limit @£250.

I will be using it locally to get about - not racing or for exercise particularly.

I'd also like to be able to fit a child seat for dd 3. i live in Brighton so lots of hills, if that's relevant!

puddle, spooooookily you have asked my question so I shall wait with interest for answers! I'm also by the coast but not hilly, thank god....though coastal places always have the WIND to contend with. However I'm determined to cycle as my DH now cycles to work each day and has lost over a stone in weight!
