Is a Yaris too small?

We want to go Japanese (after two nightmare cars we're prizing reliability above all!), and are considering:
Toyota Corolla
Mazda 3
Mazda 2
Honda Civic

I like the look of a Yaris, but are they teeny? We have one DC, with a rear facing car seat and a Mountain Buggy.

Can't afford new, and would appreciate lower fuel costs and insurance. Thinking of a 1.4 petrol engine.

The Yaris is a decent size, and in some of them at least you can slide the whole back seat forwards and backwards to get either more legroom or more boot space, which lets you decide which to compromise on. I had one for a few years and it was a lovely car, and very reliable. Since then I've had a Corolla for 6 years which is also lovely and reliable!
