Question about group 1-2-3 car seats

Are they easily interchangable from using for a 3 years old to a 6 year old? Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular seat?

I have a Britax Evolva 1-2-3 which had the harness for a toddler and then converts into a high-backed booster. Not particularly easy to change - I had to cut the straps off mine to use it as a booster as I couldn't fathom how to remove them.

No going back for ours I'm afraid - fortunately I only have one DC and it was used as a spare seat for holidays etc.

we had the evolva 123 as well and you had to tuck the straps into the body of the seat when converting to a seat without the harness (rather than remove them completely.
