My DD is 2.5 and only child at the mo. Am keen for her to learn to occupy herself for short periods and wonder what toys/activities people recommend. She loves her kitchen and pots and pans, dolls house a bit but prefers me to play too, sometimes plays with her dollies, not great at puzzles alone yet. Obviously loves colouring and painting too. Any further ideas?

Anything for role playing is great for that age - costume, hats, play food etc. Also my DS loves to make a bus by lining the dining chars up and we make tickets! Grin

my dd is the same age and for Christmas got lots of phonics toys from various people. She loves the fridge phonics adn the farm phonics. I think its also lovely that the farm ones are introducing her to listening to French while playing.
