How do I clear my kindle archive?

Just that really. Got some stuff archived that I just dont want anymore. I just want rid of them altogether.
Am I missing something simple? Is it something I can do on the Kindle itself or do I have to do it via laptop?

I think you can only do it from the laptop - go to "manage my kindle" and pull up the menu of actions for each of the books/docs and you'll see an option to delete the item altogether

I have deleted it from my amazon account and sync'ed but the title I don't want is still on my kindle??
