If you go here and type in desk, the first, third and fifth options all look quite good, and cheaper than gltc. The big disadvantage is they're all out of stock, but I'm assuming you don't need it in time for Christmas? I'm also sure I've seen very similar ones in John Lewis, but again it would probably be a better bet after Christmas.

I think John Lewis do one.

Doesn't help I know but we ended up having DD's great grandad make her one as we couldn't find a reasnably priced one. Looks lovely.

codswallop, don't know if you found one yet as i just read this thread! I found one months ago quite battered in a second hand shop and took it home and painted it white and yellow with favourite things of dd's on, just a thought if you're still looking!
