It's marvellous. My norks have never been so happy.

satine · 14/03/2006 15:54

Not all that expensive, either. I got two fabulous bras last year for £35 each and I've worn them most days ever since and they still look almost new, despite taking their chances in the washing machine with everything else! So whilst you can pick up cheap bras elsewhere, most fall apart after 6 months or so, but R & P ones really are the business. And they actually fit!

starlover · 14/03/2006 15:55

satine did you go to the shop and get measured and everything?.

i don't think my bra measuring is very accurate as I have tons that don't fit!

satine · 14/03/2006 15:59

The women who work in the shops are amazing - they just look at you and they know what size and shape of bra you need. No measuring tape or anything. And the bras they bring are so comfortable that you can hardly feel you're wearing them. After I stopped bf my dd, I wne t round Army & Navy, M & S etc to be measured and they came up with 38D and 36D. Neither size felt any good in any of the blimen hundreds of bras I tried on so eventually I went up to R & P and they said I was 34E. And every 34E bra there was wonderful! And the women there are all shapes and sizes and not at all snooty or sneery. I said that I didn't want to spend too much and they were just fine about it. I sound a bit evangelical, I know, but I think they are the best underwear shop ever!

starlover · 14/03/2006 16:01

oooh i may have to go there! also i find that i need different sizes in different shops!
I must have well over 20 bras now, and probably 3 or 4 that actually fit! it's crazy.

do they only have a shop in london?

satine · 14/03/2006 16:04

Yes, they've only got two shops, I think, both in London. One is next to Harrods and the other is on Conduit Street, just off Bond Street. You can buy Rigby and Peller bras elsewhere, but they have hundreds and hundreds of brands in their shops, which is how they have bras for every size and shape!
If you can, I'd go during the week, as it gets a bit busy on Saturdays and you might have to wait for a bit for a fitting. But they might be able to do appointments, I'm not sure.

Oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I would sh*g someone for one of those bras!!

Almost.

Kathy1972 · 14/03/2006 16:08

You can sometimes find their bras on sale online from companies like elingerie and figleaves. Agree with everyone who says they're great - I went through a phase of buying fancy underwear when I was trying to attract a man to father my children Wink and the only ones I am still wearing are the Rigby and Peller. Well worth the money. Why not get properly fitted and buy one in the store, then get more online later on?

emily05 · 14/03/2006 16:10

I will go in and get fitted. It is a good idea as I have been told that I am so many sizes that I have no idea what size I am! lol

Totally agree with R&P evangelists - only bras that have ever fitted me properly and the way they size you up so accurately is amazing. I'd worn M&S 36C all my life until I got measured for wedding basque there, and they told me I was actually 34D. My sis thought she was 36D and was told she was actually 32F!

its called POSHNORKS

puff · 15/03/2006 12:29

Try to avoid Saturdays though - the service is all personalised and you could queue for a service ticket for ages

bundle · 15/03/2006 12:33

if you can't afford that posh, the johnny lou lou's laydeez are pretty good - they look at your norks and can tell what size (rib cage & cup size) straight away...but agree r&p good for treat..motherinferior deffo looked ahem perky when i last saw her Wink

Carmenere · 15/03/2006 12:34

Fantasie Bras are made by Rigby and Peller.

annh · 15/03/2006 13:52

oh, goody, made an appointment for next week on my day off and then I come on and see this thread. Hope I don't end up throwing out a drawerful of underwear after my visit there!

Orinoco · 15/03/2006 22:18

I want to go as a treat for my birthday! Sad, I know Grin

Surfermum · 15/03/2006 22:21

Are they Carmenere? Cool. I can now tell people I wear Fantisie by Rigby and Peller and sound posh. If an ex West London gal can ever sound posh.
