touchscreen or not?

Am thinking of buying a kindle for my Mum. Don't have one myself but the thing is I have a touch screen phone and it really annoys me (and I'm 33 years younger than Mum). I miss the buttons and HATE it when the touch screen is too sensitive / locks / doesn't do what I'm asking it to do basically.

So, wondering if anyone has had the same issue with their kindle - don't want to appear tight by buying her the original model - but if it was for me, I think I'd get the one with buttons IYSWIM.

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated :)

I've got the touch and tbh I find it frustrating sometimes, so I'd go for the basic for your mum.

I have not tried the kindle touch, but I lurves my £89 kindle with buttons.

I think that would probably be better for your mum, and wouldn't appear tight, the touch is only about £20 more anyway.

If that really worries you, how about the orignal kindle, and the £20 you save, buy a nice cover for it - there are some really nice ones about for that kind of price - have a google or look on eBay :)
