OK, I need to take DD to Spain to visit my In Laws and we need somethig for her to sleep in really. ONe of those pop up travel cot things from Samsonite or Littlelife would be perfect but are they any good?

And does anyone have one they want to get shot of :o ?

Hi sd, we have a samsonite one for dd who is 10 mths old. We used it from 6mths old and use it if we stay away etc and it's brilliant. TBH dh & I are "funny" about dd using other cots so usually end up setting it up in a cot itkwim.
Its very light weight and easy to set up and take down and would recommend it 100% !!!

Although it gets placed on the floor it's got a cover type thing that seals baby into the cot so they can't roll out etc. DD loves it and esp loves playing with the zip etc! Typical...

You are best getting the bigger one like we have (beige in colour) as it holds baby to an older age. TBH dd is probably getting to big for it now....will ask dh if he fancies getting shot of it but as dd is our 1st we may need it for others..Wink.

Defo recommend it!!!! We found it cheaper on kiddicare. HTH

I sawy that one on Kiddicare - sadly it's on pre order for after we're back from Spain! Good to hear it is worth it though. Needs to be had luggage sized so our normal travel cot is no use :o

Vertbaudet have a nice pop up cot. It has a mosquito net with it, an anti-UV canopy & some hanging toys.
It is £19.99, but if you haven't ordered from them before I have a £10 off code that you could use. This includes free p&p, a soft toy & a fleece blanket too!

katzg · 13/03/2006 18:41

i've got the blue one, samsonite i think, its great, very handy, the only negative is the flimsyness of the mattress, especailly on ceramic floors, so i just put a folded towel underneath, i'm about to sell mine, but have to confess i don't know where it is, was going to ask £15 at the nearly new sale here on the 23rd if i can find it.

katzg · 13/03/2006 18:43

however the vertbaudet one looks so lovely
product number 3993468

SoupDragon · 13/03/2006 20:12

katzg, if you find it, email me on huffahorse at hotmail dot com and I'll take it off your hands for £15 + P&P :o

Vertbaudet one is "available in 4 weeks" which is no good for me. Bah! We're going away on the 5th April.

snap - it used to be in the under the stairs cupboard but we had that ripped out and converted into on office, so its not there now!

SHHHH · 14/03/2006 15:09

sd and katz before you do your "deal" (sorry to interupt Blush) the blue one is from birth to 6 mths..sd how old is your dd..??

The beige one though is more expensive BUT is from 6mth to 18 mths..This is why we opted for the beige one..more expensive but you get more use iykwim..?? I didn't know this so it seems that ours we will be keeping for a while longer as dd is only 10 mths and there may be other mini me's to use it Wink.

I have looked at Verbaudet and the measurements for it are smaller than the beige samsonite one..So I guess it's up to 6mths.??

Everywhere seems to be sold out though but I have found it here: \link{http://www.angelcots.co.uk/cgi-bin/ca000001.pl\samsonitetravelcot} for around £45 plus del and it doesn't say its out of stock..Its discounted btw.

SHHHH · 14/03/2006 15:11

try again \link{http://www.angelcots.co.uk/acatalog/Samsonite_Pop_up_Travel_cots.html\samsonite travel cot}

misdee · 14/03/2006 15:12

i have a beige 0-6month one (or untill they can sit up really). was going to go on ebay, if kat cant find hers, you can have mine for 15 plus p and p.

katzg · 14/03/2006 15:54

go for misdee's first - i reaaly don't know where ours is, and we're engulfed in illness, i'm currently trying to get a wee sample from a 9 month old baby!

SoupDragon · 14/03/2006 18:17

I remember having to get a wee sample from DS2 when he was a few weeks old... luckily the hospital handled it with a stick on bag inside his nappy.

Misdee, that would be fab. I think I've got your email address somewhere (or mine is huffahorse at hotmail dot com). Are you happy with Pay Pal because my cheque book is still in the very safe place I put it in!
