Thinking of buying one as it seesm to tick all the right boxes for me.

Does anyone own one and can you fill me in on your satisfaction with the vehicle ?

Thanks

Watching with interest. We are thinking of buying a Tiguan too. Currently have a Golf so it's quite a step up on size for me.

I looked at them but decided not to get one, the boot is too small, you can't fit a pram in the boot unless at an angle and all the features were extra so it worked out more expensive. I got an ix35 in the end and I'm very happy, also looked at the Kia Sportage and it was a close call between the Sportage and the ix35 in the end the parking camera on the ix35 won me over I love it

We had one (got rid of it when dd2 arrived). Boot was small (which may not matter- we did fine with dd1 for 3 years) but drove well and was great family car for 3 years.

Also held its value fantastically well.

It's the same chassis as a golf

Cokeaholic · 11/08/2012 22:29

It seems to have more cabin space than the golf, would that be possible with the same chassis ?

Know what you mean about the pram in the boot but we are past that stage now.

I didn't like the poor rear view with the Sportage although I love the look and price.

The Tiguan does have parking camera option. We buy second hand so all the options are fixed as by then, just depends on the individual vehicle and some I've seen do have it.

The boot is small? What smaller than a golf, because I can fit pram or buggy easily in my golf. Maybe I'm not thinking of the Tiguan and thinking of the Touran or Toureg instead?

Cokeaholic · 12/08/2012 11:00

Well, I think the boot seeming small is just relative to the large size of the vehicle.

What we are interested in is space in the main body of the car as we are all quite tall and want confort on long journeys.

It's ok for that- the issue we had is we quite often need 3 in back and it was a little small for longer journeys with 2 child seats

Strictly speaking it's built on the the same platform as the Golf, not the same chassis. But yes, VAG use as many common components across their ranges as possible. The Tiguan platform is used for 18 other vehicles.
