Halifax mortgage advice line - anyone else had the nightmare I'm having?

We applied for a further advance 6 weeks ago. We now desperately need it by tomorrow. I don't think I've ever spoken to so many people about the same bloody thing in all my life. Every phone call puts you through to about 5 different people and everyone of them doesn't know whats going on and no there isn't anyone else there that does.

Every person you speak to you have to explain how urgent it is and what's going on. One advisor put me on hold and then put me through to a sex chat line "by mistake" apparently. I wouldn't have minded if I was stroppy on the phone!

I phoned again tonight, after 5pm they'd all gone home except him apparantely, half way through the call he cut me off.

Anyway we have promised a call at 10.20am tomorrow, what are the odds of anyone ringing I wonder?

I just don't understand why they don't give you one or two points of contact all the way through. When I'm finished with this we're off and won't be back to Halifax.

Shock sex chat line!!! OMG

Unfortunately all banks are the same these days.
Do you have a branch near you? any chance of calling in and having a word/asking them to speak directly on your behalf? and complain about the sex chat line - that's outrageous!!! Angry on your behalf

Apparently they put me through to a number, the two numbers are 0870 500 6000 and 0870 600 5000 anyway they should have put me through to one but by mistake put me through to the other. I'm finding it hard to believe as why would the Halifax be phoning the Halifax and using a premium rate number? I'll have to ring them and see who it is at the other end.

I've tried the branch, they are just as hopeless, all they do is check the computer screen and don't ring anyone.

My poor Mum is now stumping up the cash for us in the meantime whilst we sort this mess out.
