hi there

anyone got one of these?

any good? we're not gadget freaks, don't have much space and just want something basic but not too cheap and rubbishy - will this fit the bill or is it a lemon?

any advice gratefully received. thanks in advance

Not got one but dh (works in electrical retail) advises not to buy combi units. Quality of components not usually up to same as buying separates and if one thing goes wrong, you end up not being able to use anything else whilst being fixed. My mum had TV/Video combined and it was poo. Sorry may not be what you wanted to hear.

(dh is a bit of a quality freak though )

sorry BK...just a quick message. chatted to dh about this and he only sells sony but reckons you can get a reasonable Tv for about £200 and decent DVD and video for about £350 for the two. Really stresses not to go for a combined unit.

Can be more specific if you want....he suggest visiting a good Sony Centre (not one of the ones on the Tottenham Court Road)...where abouts are you?

Can't get back on till Friday so will check back then

dh just here.....says to spend more on the TV than the DVD and Vid.

recommends:

DVD - DVPNS330 retails at £99.00 at his Sony Centre

Video - SLV SE730 retails at £109 at Sony Centre again.

Smallest Sony Widescreen TV is 24" but this is around £450 but in dh's opinion well worth it.

Hope this helps.

thank you so much, ssh, this is really kind of you and your dh
