Sharing Books on Kindle

I want to buy DD a kindle. Do I need to register it to my amazon account in order to be able to share books? She has her own amazon account which has her gift cards from birthday and christmas but don't want to have to buy books twice.

TIA

Good question! I have one book that I want dh to be able to read. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Yes they must be registered to one account to share books. My sister and I tried to have it so we could both download books from each others account but it won't work. I think you can have five kindles on one account.

yes I think you can have up to 6 devices linked to the one account so you would register the other persons kindle to the account so they could get access to the same books. Alternatively if they have a compatible phone you could get the kindle app and sign in on their phone using your amazon account details and they could read the books on their phone

Or you can download the software to a pc/laptop to be able to read on there
