kindle help with wi fi please on mobile

I am on holiday and intended on using the wi fi advertised at our cottage to download a few books except now here there is no wi fi. I have a galaxy Samsung phone i am using to post this because i am certain some clever mumsneter will know how to make my phone a wi fi thingy and save my evening . Thanks

settings
wireless and networks
Tethering and portable hotspot
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
You will then have to connect the kindle to the phone.I have not done this on my galaxy but did with my HTC and it worked well.

Depends.
I can easily turn on my wifi hotspot - not charged extra (was lucky with my contract a few years ago so sticking with it .)

if it is possible for you: (i also have a galaxy - the s advance but i suspect that all galaxies/androids are v similar)
go into settings
then into wireless and network
then tethering and portable hotpsot
then portable wifi hotspot settings...

sorry didnt come back to this, i couldnt get it to happen so i gave up and started reading Heidi instead which dd had downloaded ! I was havign troubles getting any 3g at all but now im home i will give it a whirl for future times, thanks for trying though
