where shall we put our shoes?

what do you all do with your shoes when you take them off?
atm we have shelves by the front door but they are a dismal and unattractive sight. Also we seem to have lots of boots as a family which don't fit in the shelves, and they won't fit in those tip-up shoe storage racks.
I thought about wire mesh drawers (ventilation important IMO) but again the problem is the boots.
Please storage experts help me!

Dirty shoes/walking boots we keep in the shed.
the shoes we wear every day go on a shoe rack which is hidden just inside an under the stairs cupboardy thing. all other shoes are neatly lined up in bottom of wardrobe.

Wellies - Garage
Everday Shoes/school shoes-Coat cupboard beside front door
"Good" shoes - In bottom of wardrobe as they are not worn as much therefore do not smell!

like festiveface but have a large cardboard box (between shoe rack and wine rack) where dirty wellies/similar get tossed into.
