I'm resigned to the fact that DD and the rest of us are going to keep getting nits untill hell freezes over other mums treat their dcs at school. Im now looking for the best way to treat them.

At the moment it's nit shampoo every few weeks, wet combing every other night, combing every night and scraping out eggs. DD is only ever clear at some weekends. Roll on the summer!

Anyway my main question is does the electric comb work/help? Is any brand better? Any other wonder cures out there?

Poor you Sad

There is no evidence that the combs work The Bug Buster site explains the life cycle of the little bastards creatures and how often you should treat. Of course, that doesn't help if she is in contact with them every day. You can get Hedrin etc on prescription.

Tell the school that you are treating your daughter and ask for them to follow up with letters to parents.

Thanks for replying. I didnt realise you could get hedrin on prescription, that could save a few pennies thanks.

I work at the same school so i know the staff are good at sending out letters and telling parents but since we were not allowed to send children home till they were treated the problem has just got worse :(
