Can I register a US bought kindle to a uk amazon account?

I got water on my kindle last month. I'm in the us next week and a kindle there is about half the price.

Can I register it to my uk kindle account?

Also - is a kindle touch worth the extra money?

One if the reason's a Kindle is cheaper in the US is because it has ad's on it.
As for whether you can buy one there but register it here I'm not too sure but the UK Amazon website has a Kindle forum where I know that question has been asked before. Also your question about the Touch would be answered there as well.
