What's the best waterproof protector for a single matress?

One that's not too sweaty would be good. Any recommendations gratefully received. Am I supposed to look out for non-pvc ones?? Thanks.

ones that have a flannel back are good at not being too sweaty...

however if you wash and tumble dry them a lot (as we do) they seem to get little hols in the back and not be 100% waterproof, just 95%!

the flannel stuff is also goos at absorbing an accidents.

We therefor have a cheap water proof plastic matteress protector (or sometimes a pampers care mat) UNDER the cotton flannel topped one... but the material stops them being sweaty and they are comfortable to sleep on

(Im sure if they want and tumble dryed nearly every night for a year they would remain waterproof much longer Wink)

got ours from argos - there was two in catalogue, chose the one that could be tumble dried.

\link{http://www.redoute.co.uk/redouteuk/sBoutique/1,1170,,00.html\La Redoute} are The Best!

Search for "PVC coated flat mattress protector" in Interieur - not even slightly sweaty. They have a strip of elastic at each corner but are heavy enough to stay in place anyway, can be washed endlessly at up to 95 degrees, and tumble dry without damaging the plastic. The flannelette ones are the best IME/O - £13 - get 2 and you will always have a clean one!

Thanks for that JanH, I didn't think to look in La Redoute, I've got a catalogue here but never used it. Will be ordering two as you suggested right away, thanks.
