M&P Car Seat- help help help purlease?!

My DD is 20 weeks old. We've been using a Mamas & Papas Primo Viaggio car seat with the car seat base.
The problem I have is - how do I stop DD from leaning forward in it? When she's asleep, she has her head leaning forward so much, not resting against the back / side of the seat. I'm worried in case I have an accident as her head would be forced back. I've pulled the straps as tightly as possible without hurting her, but she still seems to lean forwards.
Any ideas??

Sory elf - none

My car seat has a blo8dy spirit level thingy, which I'd never noticed before. DP pointed it out to me, so I now waste hours getting it "in-line"

toys r us do a neck cushion that you put at the front of the head which stops the head rolling forward. Have a look on line and see if its what your after.

apparently at one point there were complaints regarding the primo viaggio car seat as babies heads did seem to sit forward a little, mamas and papas investigated and said they were happy with the car seat.

Are you aware at the M&P first stage car seat did very poorly in the which independant crash tests?

vickiyumyum · 26/02/2006 16:52

m&p have just changed thier primo viaggio car seat and i think this had a lot to do with the which report and customer feedback, when i went in looking at prams , the woman asked me about car seatsa nd i said i ddin't want an m&p one, and she said they had sold hardly any since the report came out and they had had quite a few returned because of customer complaints about not being suitable for new borns, becaus eof how upright they are.

the new one now has an adjustable base, so that you can recline the seat, adjustable head rest and you can use it without the base as well. the only drawback is the price has gone up to £130!!!! i think that is shocking, its not even isofix compatible. oh and its huge!

NannyL · 26/02/2006 17:09

£130

one of the which best buys was the mothercare own brand one at £40!

Also M&P car seats are generally SOOO poor in the ehich crash tests (with the one exception of 1 of their group 1 car seats) i would not use ANY M&P seat!

Have the same principle for motehrcare brand seats.... except that one which RECOMMEND!

NannyL I read a recent report on car seats and it did quite well in that

i think it does quite well in the reports for magazines such as mother and baby, practical parenting etc, but when it comes to the which tests i think they are stricter and they are actually crash tested, wheras the other tests are on what it looks like how heavy it is, what colours it comes in.

muma3 · 27/02/2006 19:48
