New Salt and Pepper Mill

Any one know why I am not to use rock salt in my new salt mill.

It says use sea salt.

I don't have sea salt but do have rock salt.

Maybe it is too hard or lumpy or the pieces are too large? (I'd just use it anyway... unless it was v expensive).
