Christmas Decorations

Where do I get Chrismas decorations? - I'm not talking small decorations and baubles to dress Christmas trees, nor particularly outside lighting. I'm after the not particularly tasteful glittery hanging lanterns etc you can hang from the ceiling, paper chains, balloons saying happy Christmas etc......At the w/end I popped into Woolworths, Smiths and John Lewis and whilst I found tinsel and baubles etc I couldn't find anything like what I am describing....

Any suggestions please?

That's a shame - my dd is not into understated elegant chic, and would love lots of gaudy, tacky decorations!

What about Wilkinson's or the market stalls?

happycat · 08/12/2003 11:57

99p shops have loads.

No Twinkie - I didn't take it personally. Yes maybe I should get all arts and crafty and try making some - sounds like it could be fun.

B&Q was sufficiently tacky for my DD. Totally agree. Minimalist Habitat silver decor has nothing to with Christmas when you have kids.

Thanks Happycat - there is a poundstretcher type shop nearby I think I'll pop in. Hulababy, I'll try Wilkinsons too

Can confirm that Wilkinsons have a good selection - my office is lovely and tacky!!

B & Q's website features a HUGE inflatable Santa - 8' tall - indoor and outdoor use - guy ropes included, heehee! (Imagine if you didn't peg it down properly and it took off )

Sorry, hmc, I know it's not what you want but I love it!

pound shops?

Davros · 08/12/2003 17:23

Agree that markets are a good place for tacky decs. Leather Lane or Shepherds Bush if you're in London.

Saw lots of these in HOmeBase today (and bought lovely new fake wreath for front door )
